VectorBee 2.6.0 has been updated with
12+ new/optimized features,
including:
1. Pairwise Sequence Alignment
A new Pairwise Sequence Alignment function has been added to
Alignment menu. You can use this function to align two sequences
based on DNA/RNA sequence or translated protein sequence.
2. Import Vector from VectorBuilder - Import Multiple Vectors
Users can import up to 100 vectors at a time by clicking "Import
Vector from VectorBuilder" and entering the vector IDs.
3. Design Primer - Pick Sequencing Primers
We have added the ability to pick sequencing primers in our
Primer Design tool. In "Pick Sequencing Primers", VectorBee will
design forward/reverse sequencing primers based on the sequence
selected by user.
4. Alignment
We have enhanced the Alignment module with new user-friendly
functions, making workflows smoother and more efficient. Below
is an overview of these new functions.
4.1 Trim Ends
VectorBee has added an automatic end-trimming option within the
Pairwise Sequence Alignment and Multiple Sequence Alignment
functions. When users check this function, VectorBee will trim
the low-confidence terminal regions of the sequence according to
users' settings.
4.2 Translation
Translation (including all frames, ORFs, and CDS) is added in
alignment projects. This allows users to easily view any changes
in amino acids after alignment.
4.3 RNA Sequence Alignment
Users can import RNA sequences into the Alignment function
(Pairwise Sequence Alignment, Multiple Sequence Alignment, and
Pairwise Sequence Dot Plot) and align DNA/RNA sequences.
4.4 Status Bar
A status bar has been added to alignment projects. Users can
more conveniently check information such as Tm, GC content, and
more.
5. Redo Alignment with Current Sequence or Original Sequence
A new option has been added to allow users to select either the
current (potentially edited) sequence or the original sequence
when redoing an alignment.
6. Display Gridlines, Coordinates, and Cursor Coordinates in Dot
Plot Maps
To improve the readability of Dot Plot maps, the following
functions have been added: Gridlines, Coordinate, and Cursor
Coordinate.
7. Smart Point Snap in Dot Plot Maps
We've added a "Smart Point Snap" function to make interactions
with the Dot Plot map smoother. When users click near a dot on
the map, the cursor will automatically snap to the closest one,
so no more struggling to click exactly on tiny dots.
8. Simulate Agarose Gel - Copy/Export Fragment List
Users can copy or export fragment lists for all lanes or
selected lanes of the project.
9. Insert Recognition Sequence
Users can easily insert restriction enzyme site(s).
Other Notes and Enhancements
1. We have fixed various reported bugs.
2. To enhance system performance and security, VectorBee has
upgraded the underlying architecture of software. Starting with
this version, the software requires Windows 10 or a later
operating system to run.
